DESIGN ROEL VANDEBEEK
IN COLLAB WITH ODETTE LUNETTES
FOR ODETTE LUNETTES
Through a number of conversations, the identity of Odette Lunettes became clear to Roel, allowing him to fully empathize with the philosophy of the brand. The initial question was to develop a kind of 'presentation object' that sellers in different countries can use as a tool to present the glasses to the opticians in an original way. It soon became clear that the presentation object was not the only thing they were looking for. Rather, it was about designing a kind of new 'identity' in general in which the presentation of spectacles during a sales conversation, a display for the opticians and the spectacle case would form one whole.
The new spectacle case is based on Odette’s 'O' and made of thin sheet steel. Due to its unique shape and sobriety it becomes a recognizable icon for the brand. Both the large 'O' and the logo on the side give an extra dimension due to the relief shape that is incorporated in it. The lid does not hinge as you would expect, but slides open and is therefore pleasant to use. The box is available in black and white, in two sizes and always provided with a soft interior.
